The Crest

Our
Cesky Den "znak" - or crest, was
recorded with the State of Wisconsin
on March 27,
1985 as it became the logo for our organization.
The design,
illustrated by Karel Bilek, depicts two song birds perched on an open
music book
portraying the Hillsboro and Yuba Czech Singers,
as the letters H
and Y represent the two participating towns.
A
Cesky Den banner crowns a pictorial
panorama of Wisconsin's scenic beauty.
The dairy cow's
head and the corn shock show our agricultural heritage,
while the fish
and deer stand for the great recreational area Wisconsin has to offer.
The giant tree
holds up the pictorial symbols while it portrays some logging industry.
In Europe, these
colorful crests represent cities, towns, villages and also families,
telling
historical illustrated stories of the people and events they portray.
